Additional Information

Research has demonstrated what we all know - hearing loss has negative effects on one’s life and the lives of those around us. Hearing loss can add to family strife, marital discord, frustration, anger and social isolation. While multiple research studies and personal accounts give testimony to the ability of hearing aids to significantly reduce all of these negatives, some degree of these impacts often remains even with hearing aid use. On reflection, we recognize this is expected.

We all know that the use of hearing aids cannot fully restore hearing. The first five items below have been found to be successful supplements to the use of hearing aids. The fifth item, while not related to hearing loss (but rather to balance problems which for many people accompany hearing loss or simple accompany the aging process) is offered as a list of suggestions that can also help people remain active within their circles of life.
